Besides houses and garden, he has shares in companies

Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided the posh residence of K. Krishna Reddy, Special Grade Town Planning Officer of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA), on Thursday. The raid was conducted simultaneously on eight premises, which included his office chambers, private office, and residences of his father and sister.

Huge properties, including his house worth ₹2 crore (as per government value), were identified to be in his possession, the market value of which was expected to touch ₹20 crore. The officer began his service at TUDA as Town Planning Officer and went on to become Senior TPO and Special Grade TPO.

The properties identified included houses in Ramachandra Nagar and Sivajyoti Nagar, four-acre mango garden, a house in his native Katherapalli village of Karvetinagaram mandal in Chittoor district, and shares in two granite companies.

His ‘benami’ properties such as 13-acre land in Thukivakam on the city outskirts and villas in Hyderabad were under scanner. The department expects the value of the “ill-gotten” property to cross the ₹100 crore mark. The raid was conducted based on a number of allegations made against him over the past several months.

Going by the officer’s position and the potential of seizure, ACB Deputy Superintendents of Nellore and Kurnool had also been roped in for the raid.
