Telangana government has decided to reward government employees of outstanding contribution in their respective fields and for excellence in public service with Incentive Awards on August 15.
Incentive Awards Committee headed by B.P.Acharya, Special Chief Secretary and comprising Principal secretaries of GAD and Finance formulated the modalities which were cleared by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao. The incentives awards to encourage best employees based on their performance would hereafter be an annual exercise apart from Telangana Excellence awards.
The Committee would select 12 best employees from each category who would receive cash awards at the State-level and four best employees, one each from each class would get increment in each district for outstanding work. Of the top, 12 employees at the State-level, eight would be drawn from districts and four from Secretariat /Head Office located in Hyderabad, one from each category. Overall 124 employees would get the incentive and top 12 of them would in addition get cash award.
The cash awards would be in the range of ₹ 5 lakh, ₹3 lakh and ₹2 lakh for No.1, 2nd and 3rd ranks. Significantly, the cash awards are same across all categories of employees- from Class I to Class IV.
A web portal was developed for entire processing- inviting applications, selection of nominees for awards etc.
The applications can be uploaded on the State portal from July 21 to 31. All regular employees from Class IV onwards are eligible for incentive scheme. The process of selection will done in a transparent and objective manner.
