Union Ministers inspect Kalam memorial

: Union Ministers and Pon Radhakrishnan today inspected the memorial for former President A P J Abdul Kalam, which is to be inaguruated by Prime Minister Modi on July 27.

The Ministers were accompanied by unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan and Ramanathapuram Collector S Natarajan.


Later, Sitharaman and Radhakrishnan, along with senior district police officials inspected the helipad at Mandapam, where Modi would be landing.

Meanwhile, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Director Mayilsamy Annadurai also visited the town and called on the family members of Kalam, including his elder brother A P J M Muthu Meera Maraikayar.

Later,Annadurai told reporters, "Kalam was an inspiration for many scientists, including myself. His dream was to make into a developed nation and involve the student community in achieving his vision," he said.
