In a confidence-building measure, V. Keerthi, wife of Prakasam District Collector V. Vinay Chand, has undergone family planning operation in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here.
After the successful surgical procedure , Mr. Vinay Chand, who is also chairman of the RIMS Hospital Development Committee, told The Hindu on Thursday that they had full faith in RIMS, which had all the facilities, including equipment to perform all types of advanced surgeries.”
People need not have any fear or inhibitions in getting treated in a government hospital, he said.
The procedure was performed by noted civil surgeon M. Venkaiah, who had created a record of sorts by performing close to one lakh surgical procedures on women, mostly farm workers, who could get back to work without much delay in case of conventional surgical procedure, he added.
