The seventh session of the 14th Kerala Assembly is scheduled to commence on August 7. The State Cabinet which met here on Wednesday decided to recommend Governor P. Sathasivam to convene the legislative session.
The Cabinet also recommended the appointment of G. Rajendran as member of the Public Service Commission. Sharmila Mary Joseph, who is returning to the State on completion of Central deputation, will be appointed Member Secretary, Planning Board, and Secretary, Planning and Economic Affairs.
Chairman and Managing Director, Supplyco, A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish will be given additional charge of Executive Officer, Kochi Smart City. Director, Survey and Land Records, Gopalakrishnan is to be given additional charge of CEO, Thiruvananthapuram Smart City.
State Project Officer, RMSA, R. Rahul will be given additional charge of Managing Director, KTDFC.
Retired Additional Chief Secretary Marapandian is appointed Special Officer to the special purpose vehicle for import of raw cashew from producer countries.
The Cabinet decided to allot 30 acres of land in the possession of SIDCO at Menamkulam, Thiruvananthapuram, for the construction of a headquarters for the Women Police Battalion.
PSC office
It approved the conditional release of 30 cents of land belonging to the Revenue Department for the construction of an office building for the PSC in Malappuram.
The meeting approved the creation of 460 posts in lower courts and sub-courts. It also ratified the creation of new posts for the Vizhinjam rehabilitation project; Kerala Forward Communities Welfare Corporation; Fire and Rescue Academy, Viyyur; Minority Youth Training Centre at Thriprangode, Malappuram; and the Thiruvananthapuram Bench of the Kerala Administrative Tribunal.
It also decided to enhance the pension of former chairmen and members of the PSC to 7.5% of the basic pay for every year of service.
The Cabinet approved a ₹13-crore project to construct a bridge across the Tirur river. The project is to be funded by KIIFB.
