The BJP’s Mahila Morcha on Tuesday staged a demonstration against alleged attacks on women of a particular community in West Bengal.
The demonstration, led by Mahila Morcha president Poonam Parashar Jha, and Union Minister Babul Supriyo, was held outside the West Bengal House in Chanakyapuri.
‘Communal fire’
Addressing the demonstrators, Mr. Supriyo alleged that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was “playing with communal fire to continue in power”. Terming it “communal mania” which was “sponsored”, the MP said that Ms. Banerjee would have to “pay a heavy price”. Ms. Jha alleged that West Bengal was “burning under the rule of Ms. Banerjee”. Delhi BJP vice-president Jai Prakash termed the West Bengal government as “a government of conspirators”.
