There is a need for safe foodgrain storage and warehousing corporations should expand their network in scientific manner to meet the demand, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.
With this, warehousing corporations would not only earn more profit by increasing business but also ensure safety of food grains, Khattar said.
Haryana State Warehousing Corporation today presented a cheque for Rs 172,68,916 as dividend at the rate of 15 per cent of the profit after tax made in financial year 2015-16.
The Corporation operated 112 warehouses in the state with average storage capacity of 17.12 lakh metric tonnes at 74 per cent utilisation in 2016-17.
During the year, the turnover of the corporation was Rs 2,724.68 crore, an official release said.
