The owner of three real estate companies accused of duping scores of property buyers is evading investigation by citing ill health. Sachin Nayak, the owner of TGS, Dreams GK and Gruha Kalyan, is accused of conning people out of hundreds of crores by promising them affordable sites and flats in various parts of Bengaluru.
A team of CID officials is worried that it may not get to question the realtor. Nayak’s wife and small-time actor Disha Choudhari has also been named in the case. “After the case was transferred to the CID, investigating officials obtained permission from the court for his custody three times. But Nayak is avoiding investigation by getting admitted to hospital whenever we get permission,” a CID official said.
The CID requested the court for Nayak’s custody on July 1. The court issued an order giving the CID his custody on July 16. Nayak, who learnt about the development, got admitted to hospital on July 11 and stayed there till July 17.
“He then obtained a doctor’s certificate that advised him a week’s bed rest. So, we can’t do anything till July 24. He used the same trick last month,” the official said.
Meanwhile, Disha is not co-operating in the investigation either. She has already obtained bail in 37 cases registered at the Madiwala police station. Bail applications in 10 other cases registered at Hennur, Vidyaranyapura, Kengeri and other police stations are in various stages of hearing, according to CID officials. These 10 cases have ensured that she remains in the Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara, they added.
