BSES engineer death: Police registers culpable homicide case

The Police has registered a case of culpable homicide in connection with the death of a BSES engineer who was escaping a mob during a power theft checking drive in south west Delhi's Jaffarpur Kalan area.

Police said locals were being questioned to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the car carrying assistant engineer Abhimanyu Singh ramming into a tree, causing his death and injuring four other BSES employees.


The occupants of the vehicle are also being questioned to know the facts of the case.

The BSES employees claimed that they were chased by two men on a motorcycle and that led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.

The police has added section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder, punishable with imprisonment for life) of the to the FIR.

It has also identified two men who allegedly followed the vehicle.

The injured persons are currently undergoing treatment.
