A meeting of the Backward Class Commissions from southern states sought that the power to make changes in OBC list of the Centre be assigned to the National BC Commission.
The meeting was organised by Karnataka BC Commission's Chairman H Kantha Raja at Bengaluru on July 7, Telangana BC Commission Chairman B S Ramulu said in a release here today.
The meet welcomed the Centre's empowering the National BC Commission on the lines of National SC, ST Commissions, it said.
"Inclusions and exclusions in OBC list of Union of India may be assigned to the National BC Commission," the meeting said in one of its resolutions.
"All major policy matters of the Union government affecting socially and educationally backward classes should be discussed in full length in National BC Commission which included all states BC Commissions as members," another resolution said.
