To enhance women’s safety and reduce the response time by police

Giving further boost to its app to provide safety to employees, particularly women in the IT sector who commute mostly by private cabs, the city police integrated their Hawk Eye application with a transport services application used by Synchrony Financial India.

The Synchrony Financial India, a Fortune 500 financial services company, has MoveInSync, its own transport security solution in the form of an app that enables GPS tracking and has security alarms. It has now integrated its application with the Hawk Eye app of the city police to significantly enhance the safety of its employees.

As soon as the employees in distress press the SOS alert button , a notification would be sent to the company’s security team as well as the nearest patrol vehicle, concerned area SHOs, ACP, CDP and the police control room.

Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, who launched the app at Synchrony Financial at Madhapur here on Tuesday, said integrating the Hawk Eye with other apps in government and private sectors would further enhance the responsiveness of the Police Department.

Appreciating Synchrony for the initiative, he hoped it would encourage other corporate companies too to integrate their transport apps with the Hawk Eye as ultimately the objective was to make their employees feel safe and secure. In terms of women empowerment and safety, this integrated approach would go a long way. Such an approach between the police and the stakeholders would benefit the citizens in general and enhance the image of Hyderabad, attract more investments to it, generate more jobs and lead to wealth creation.

Faisal Uddin, senior vice-president, Synchrony Financial, India, said of over 3,000 employees, 43% of women comprise its workforce. As technology evolved, employees were also more comfortable using the apps. Integrating their app with the Hawk Eye would bring down the response time and give more confidence to the employees and their family members.

Swathi Lakhra, Additional CP (Crimes and She Teams), Sandeep Shandilya, CP Cyberabad, Tarun Joshi, Additional Commissioner, Rachakonda, welcomed the initiative.
