The city woke up to overcast conditions on Monday, which led to a downpour in the afternoon. The city received 20.6 mm of rain between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
Though the rain brought the mercury down, it also led to traffic jams due to waterlogging. According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature was 34.1 degrees Celsius, one degree below the normal for this time of the year, while the minimum settled at 29.1 degrees, two degrees above normal. Humidity oscillated between 89% and 63%.
The weatherman has forecast overcast skies along with the possibility of light rains on Monday night.
A generally cloudy sky with light rain has been forecast till July 21.
