The authorities have postponed the demolition of a temple, allegedly built illegally at east Delhi's Shahdara, due to "administrative reasons", the police said today.
The temple was to be demolished today but the authorities have postponed it to August 21.
"We have received a letter from the Public Works Department (PWD) communicating the change of date," said a senior police official.
The letter attributed the decision to "administrative reasons", he added.
The temple was to be demolished as per an order of the Delhi High Court.
A small religious group has registered its protest against the decision to demolish the temple. It today warned of protests if the authorities went ahead with the move.
