Ratings, benchmarks, analytics and data provider to capital and commodity markets worldwide, S&P Global is setting up a Global Talent Centre in Hyderabad.

The facility, for which it is collaborating with Ness Digital Engineering, is expected to employ 650 persons in the next two years. This number would be around 325 in the first year, S&P Global’s Chief Information Officer Krishna Nathan said here on Monday.

Announcing launch of the GTC, he and Chief Technology Officer Shekar Pannala said by April next year S&P expected the facility to move into its own premises. The facility would be managed initially by NESS.

Behind S&P’s decision to set up the centre here was the talent availability in Hyderabad, Mr.Nathan said, counting cloud, artificial intelligence, big data and security among the areas of focus for the GTC. Nearly half of the 20,000 employees S&P Global employed, in 31 countries, was based out of India and the new facility would bolster its presence. It would be technology enabler for their businesses, the two senior executives said.

The GTC, Mr. Pannala said, would leverage NESS’ talent in sourcing local talent, especially with regard to emerging skill sets.

Ness Digital Engineering CEO Paul Lombardo said the partnership of the two firms was over 10 years old and helped develop industry-leading solutions.

A release said Ness Digital Engineering would help S&P Global develop and evolve products and platforms that meet emerging technology opportunities across its varied business segments, including S&P Global Ratings, S&P Dow Jones Indices, and S&P Global Platts.
