Gur prices remain steady in listless trade

Lethargic conditions developed at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market with prices after moving either side on alternate bouts of buying and selling, ended at last levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also settled steady in the absence of buying support.


Marketmen said prices moved in a tight range in the absence of worthwhile activity and finally settled at previous levels.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,500-3,600, pedi Rs 3,800-3,900, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,625-2,675, chakku Rs 3,200-3,300,khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,400-3,450 and dhayya Rs 3,450-3,500.
