Sheena Bora Murder Case

Mumbai: Shyamvar Rai, the accused-turned-approver in the Sheena Bora murder trial, will be cross-examined by defence in on July 28.

In the last hearing, Sub-Inspector Ganesh Dalvi, one of the investigating officers in the case attached with the Khar police station, told the CBI court that Mr. Rai had taken him to his house and showed him a photograph of Sheena Bora.

On February 24, Mr. Dalvi had revealed parts of the confessional statement made by Mr. Rai, to which the defence had objected. They moved the High Court and the court ruled the confessional statement could be brought in as evidence through Mr. Dalvi. Hence, the defence made a plea to cross-examine Mr. Rai in the trial, which was accepted by the court on Monday.

On May 11, Mr. Rai pleaded to be made an approver, saying that he wanted to “disclose all truths” of the murder plot. On June 6, the CBI had filed saying it had no objection to make him an approver.
