Those applying under reserved categories still have a chance

Delhi University released its fifth cut-off list on Monday night, as per which most of the popular colleges have closed admissions to several courses.

Colleges where admissions to certain courses are still open saw a marginal dip in cut-off, barely 1%, to fill the few seats that are still up for grabs.

Several off-campus colleges, which in the fourth-cut off list had most courses open, have managed to fill most seats and declared admissions closed in the fifth list.

However, students applying to the university under various reserved categories still have a chance of making it to a college of their choice as admissions under these categories have not been closed yet.

North Campus

At Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), which started closing admissions to the unreserved category in the second list itself, seats are still open for the coveted B.A. (Hons.) Economics course. For Schedule Caste applicants, the college has asked for 92.5% while for Persons with Disabilities, the percentage required is 86%.

Hindu College, meanwhile, has closed admissions to 15 of its 18 courses while Kirori Mal College has closed admissions to 15 of 21, and Hans Raj has closed 11 of 18 courses.

South Campus

Among South Campus colleges, LSR has closed admissions to 10 out of 14 courses while Sri Venkateswara College has closed admissions to 18 out of 20, and Gargi College has closed 11 out of 19 courses.

The lowest cut-off was declared by Mata Sundri College at 45% for B.A. (Hons.) Sanskrit.

Several other colleges have also announced cut-offs ranging between 45% and 60% for B.A. (Hons.) Sanskrit.

Session begins on July 20

Verification of documents for students seeking admission under the fifth list will be done between July 18 and 19. The university has said that further cut-off lists may be declared, depending on vacant seats in colleges.

Colleges are scheduled to reopen on July 20.
