West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday alleged that there has been an all-round intelligence failure leading to border stand-offs with other countries.

“We are suffering the most because of policies of the Centre. How did people come across the border?” she questioned.

Calling yet again for Opposition parties to unite, Banerjee warned that the BJP will “not spare” them too. Accordingly, her party chose to vote for Meira Kumar in the Presidential polls.

“By voting for Meira Kumar we have registered our protest against injustice and the anti-people policies of the Central Government. We have strengthened the Opposition through this vote. I appeal to them who are siding with the BJP, when the time comes the BJP will not spare you,” she said.

According to Banerjee, the BJP-led government has been using investigating agencies, including the CBI, ED and Income Tax to silence its critics and the Opposition. “We are a pro-people government and we cannot be silenced through such strong-arm tactics,” the Chief Minister further added.
