1) The presidential poll is to be held on Monday. The term of President Pranab Mukherjee ends on July 24. The election will be held by an electoral college consisting of the members of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, members of all the state legislative assemblies and the elected members of the legislative assembly of the UTs, including Delhi and Puducherry.

2) Lynching incidents and vigilantism, the Kashmir situation and the border stand-off with China are among the topics likely to dominate proceedings during the monsoon session of Parliament that begins on Monday. The session, which will continue till August 11, is also likely to witness heated debates on the fallout of GST, the agrarian crisis and the policy towards Pakistan.

3) Over two weeks into the GST regime, the GST Council will meet on Monday to take stock of the implementation of the new indirect tax. This will be the first meeting of the Council since the launch of GST on July 1 and the 19th since it was set up in September last year.

4) Vikram Limaye will take charge as Managing Director and CEO of the NSE from Monday. Limaya has been relieved by the Supreme Court of his responsibilities at the Committee of Administrators of BCCI. After the sudden exit of Chitra Ramkrishna in December last year, Limaye was selected as the MD and CEO of the exchange by the bourse’s board in February.

5) BSE will shift securities of 48 companies including IDFC Bank and InterGlobe Aviation to the Group `A' category, the most tracked segment on the bourse's platform, from July 17. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, Crompton Greaves Consumer, Dr. Lal Pathlabs, Future Retail, GHCL, L&T Technology Services, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, Mahanagar Gas, RBL Bank, Tata Motors Ltd and Welspun India are also listed for addition to Group A.
