A fast track court has sent a man to jail for five years for attempting to kidnap a 12- year-old boy in 2010.
Judge Manoj Kumar convicted the man by holding him guilty for kidnapping in order to murder and attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment.
The judge also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Pankaj yesterday.
The prosecution said Pankaj and one of his associates Ravinder tried to kidnap the boy for ransom on February 9 2010.
Ravinder died during pendency of the case, the prosecution said.
