South Africa dominated day three of the second Test and went to stumps in a comfortable position with England needing 473 more runs to win the second Test. South Africa have two days to bowl out the hosts after setting them a 474-run target. The Proteas declared their second innings at 343 for 9 with Dean Elgar, Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis scoring fifties each. Vernon Philander contributed with 42 runs and was the last wicket to fall before declaration. England openers Alastair Cook and Keyton Jennings survived a testing period of four overs, including a out decision on the first ball of the innings before Cook reviewed it to overturn the decision, by Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander.
