more-in

Residents of T.C. Palya foiled an robbery attempt on Sunday when they noticed two suspicious-looking persons trying to scale a wall to enter the second floor of a house on the CCTV camera. The residents had decided to keep a watch on the area after a series of attempted break-ins.

On seeing the two, the residents immediately alerted the police control room and came out to the street.

Sensing trouble, the accused, including a Nigerian national, started to flee. But, the residents gave them a chase and nabbed one of the suspects.

The Nigerian national, who managed to reach his bike, attempted to rescue his associate by running over one of the residents, Hiremath. But the residents overpowered the accused and handed them both over to the police.

The K.R. Puram police have taken the duo into custody and are investigating.
