Three of family murdered over property dispute

A property dispute ended in the murder of three members of a family at Muganur village of Sedam taluk in the district on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Devaraya Adaviyappa (55), his wife Kalamma Devaraya (50) and Rajashekhar Basavaraj (20), the son of Adaviyappa’s brother.

The Devaraya’s family had a dispute with another family over a piece of land.

On Sunday, the victims and three others had been to the disputed property for sowing when members of the other family attacked them. The three sustained grievous injuries and died on the way to a hospital. Another injured is stated to be critical.

Suicide pact

In another incident, Kalaburagi police said that financial trouble drove four members of a family to suicide in their house at Saraswathi Godown Layout. The bodies of Srikanth Kamalapurkar, his wife Dhanushree and their two children Chetan and Sakshi were found in their house on Saturday.
