No proposal of legalising online betting has been made to me, clarifies Vijay Goel

With reports of the All Gaming Federation (AIGF) recommending a central legalisation to allow online and regulated betting in Cricket doing rounds, Union Minister Vijay Goel on Sunday clarified that he has not yet come across any such proposal.

"No such proposal has been made to me. I am against betting. I am one of those who banned gambling. But the final decision rests with the of India," Goel said.

Earlier, the AIGF reportedly sought a central legalisation to allow online betting and regulated betting in Cricket.

The AIGF, in its submitted to the Commission of (LCI), stated the Centre could earn thousands of crores in and revenues every year if it legalises betting.

Betting on is banned in India, but is reportedly carried out illegally.
