Mystery of His Paratva

more-in

When the Lord descends in human form as Rama or Krishna, the infinitude of His Paratva is never affected or diminished. Knowingly or unknowingly, all beings feel the contact with the Lord and His swabhava, for His is the essence of Suddha Chaitanya, pointed out Nochur Sri Venkataraman in a discourse.

The indriyas and the brain may not recognise Him, but the heart is in constant communion with the Lord residing in its depths. One may love Him as a friend, a child or a lover, or even fear Him as an enemy. The cows, calves, peacocks, Gopis, etc in the Vraja country are drawn towards Krishna not because of any spiritual instruction; nor are they aware that He is the Supreme Lord incarnate.

There is no reason for this instinctive and indescribable love towards Him. It is not necessary to know about the respective property of fire to scorch or water to moisten to feel these effects.

Conversely too, it is shown that a person like Duryodhana, who regards Krishna as a mere cowherd boy and often tries to insult Him, also responds to His greatness in spite of himself. He even plans to bind Him, not knowing that He can be bound only with true love and devotion. But he is the first to stand up as a mark of respect when Krishna comes as a messenger to his court, forgetting his own orders to all to remain seated.

Kamsa is keen to save himself from Krishna and remains in fear of Him ever since His birth. Maricha is filled with terror and a kind of admiration for Rama and spends his time in the forest thinking of Him. Even the word Ra spells fear to him.

Such is His Maya that baffles with this wonderful creation of the universe, revealing and also holding under wraps His all-pervading effulgence at one stroke.
