The State Government has decided to provide 268 single used dialysis machines in 39 hospitals across the State under the public private partnership mode.
Patients enrolled under Arogyasri scheme would be given dialysis treatment free of cost and the Government said it was the first time that the State Government was setting up single used dialysis machines along with RO plants in the hospitals. Tender process for procuring the machines has been completed and the services would be soon made operational, Health Minister C. Lakshma Reddy said.
The hospitals have been directed to identify premises to locate the dialysis centres and the process of setting up machines would be completed soon. He expressed concern over the increasing number of patients suffering from kidney related ailments due change in lifestyle and other causes.
