Mudragada firm on padayatra

Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham has alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who had promised reservations to the Kapus and gone back on it later, is responsible for the Tuni agitation.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted an inquiry into the role of three persons – V. Yesudasu, K. Tataji, and B. Kondala Rao – at the Anakapalle Railway Station on Friday in connection with the torching of the Ratnachal Express near Tuni during the Kapu agitation. Mr. Padmanabham came to the station and waited in his car as the inquiry was going on.

Later, addressing the media, he said when cases had been booked against him (Mr. Padmanabham) during the agitation in 1994, Mr. Naidu then termed it as “injustice.” Saying he was ready for any inquiry, he challenged the CM to get the case investigated without any adjournments. Mr. Padmanabham also said he would undertake the padayatra, which would be a peaceful one, and would not listen to the DGP’s warnings. “If not today, I shall take it up 10 days later. But the padayatra will take place,” he said.
