A 74-year-old woman, Dalai Savitri, from Jeypore in Odisha has been relieved of her pain in the left-knee joint.
The total knee replacement done with fifth generation Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS), also known as navigation system, at MyCure Hospitals here on July 11, has enabled her to walk barely 24 hours after the surgery.
“The fifth generation navigation equipment allows the patient to walk within 24 hours of the surgery. The technology can also be used for hip joint replacement and also in patients going for a revision (second) replacement,” consultant orthopaedic surgeon I. Satish Raju told a media conference on Friday.
