Low pressure area likely to form

Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of coastal AP on July 15, 17 and 18 under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers is very likely to occur at many places over coastal AP and at isolated places over Rayalaseema during the next four days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The upper air cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood moved over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood and extends up to 7.6 km above the mean sea, level tilting south westwards with height, persists. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form during next three days.

The trough on sea level, running from North Chattisgarh to South Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, also persists.

Strong surface winds from a westerly direction, with speed reaching 45 to 50 km/hr are likely along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours commencing from 11 p.m. on Friday, according to the Cyclone Warning Centre, Visakhapatnam.
