Computer systems at exam centre hang up

A large number of candidates of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission’s Group-II mains examinations staged protest when more than 200 computers suddenly hanged up at the examination centre in the city on Saturday.

The first objective examination, in a series of three objective-type examinations on Saturday and Sunday, was scheduled to start at 2:30 pm on Saturday. The examination was delayed due to some technical glitches in most of the rooms of the examination centre.

The aspirant candidates alleged that even after rectification of the problems, the systems hanged once again.

‘Software problem’

Meanwhile, Gitam University spokesperson said the problem was due to the software installed by TCS appointed by the government for the examination. “The systems belonged to TCS and we are not responsible for any glitches,” he said.

DRO CCS Reddy told the media that 354 candidates appeared for the exam and other candidates didn’t appear even after our requests. Asked what will be in store for these aspirants, Mr. Reddy said APPSC will take a call.
