As Indians, most of us are bilingual by default — we know our mother tongues, and are fluent in English too. In fact, some of us may know quite a few Indian languages, a byproduct of our diverse but closely-knit nation. So it may interest you to know that there are proven advantages to being bilingual that reflect on your brain — as Mia Nacamulli explains on TED-Ed. For example, the “heightened workout” that switching between two or more languages gives to your brain, may delay the onset of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

No sleep
