The Shahpur police have arrested a man on the charge of killing his 75-year-old mother, identified as Tippamma, at Chatnalli village in Yadgir district.
The police said that Eshappa was arrested following a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s brother, Mallappa, on July 8. According to the police, Eshappa killed his mother as he was unable to take care of her.
The police said that on July 7, after informing everybody that she had died of old age, Eshappa buried Tippamma.
Suspecting this, Mallappa approached the police on July 8 and registered the complaint.
After preliminary inquiry, the police took the accused into custody. He was then produced before the magistrate, who remanded him in judicial custody till July 11.
Thereafter, the police exhumed the body and conducted an autopsy.
