Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao launched a scathing attack on the Opposition parties for politicising all the welfare and developmental programmes of the State government and stalling them to gain political mileage.
“When the government is distributing 84 lakh sheep to shepherds, there are instances of some 10 and odd sheep dying. The ‘opposition sheep’, who never ever distributed even 84 sheep, are making a hue and cry over the issue using the social media,” he said and told the people not to believe the false charges.
Addressing a public meeting after participating in the Haritha Haaram programme here on Wednesday, he alleged that the opposition parties were only after power and they do not have any concern for the welfare of society. Alleging that the Congress had encouraged the sale of spurious seeds and fertilizer in the State, he said the TRS government was firmly dealing with the menace products firmly.
He said that the government had completely eradicated gambling and ID liquor and with equal determination the drug menace, which was playing havoc with the student community, would be tackled.
He also charged the Opposition with stalling development works by obstructing the construction of irrigation projects.
“But, I am very firm and committed to provide irrigation sources to one crore acres in the State at any cost,” he said and reminded that when he launched the TRS party and conducted “Simha Garjana” in Karimnagar in the year 2001, everyone ridiculed the idea of formation of Telangana State. “But I fought and achieved it,” he added.
