Ex-MCD councillors of BJP get new roles in party organisation

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

The today effected a reshuffle in party organisation by handing new responsibilities to its ex-councillors who were denied tickets in municipal elections.

Among the ex-councillors who have been entrusted with new responsibilities are Subhas Arya, Ashish Sood, Shobha Vijender, Devender Solanki and Rajpal Rana.

Arya, veteran leader in the MCD, has been appointed the president of management department of the party, while Sood has been given the responsibility for publicity and information section.

The move is seen as a bid to pacify former municipal councillors who were apparently "disappointed" over president Manoj Tiwari's decision not to give tickets to them to contest civic elections held in April this year.
