Of the 2.42 lakh students who appeared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) supplementary examination, 1.23 lakh students have passed, taking the pass percentage to 50.81.
This is an improvement from the previous year when only 26.07% students passed the supplementary examination.
Girls have outshone boys with a pass percentage of 55.88. The pass percentage of boys is 47.9. Rural students have outperformed their urban counterparts, by registering a pass percentage of 54.33. The pass percentage of urban students is 47.02.

Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait, who announced the results on Thursday, attributed the improvement in the pass percentage to the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSSEB) adopting the Karnataka Secure Examination System and providing remedial coaching to students.
He said a circular had also been issued to ensure that students who have cleared the supplementary examination get admission in the pre-university colleges in the State. All PU colleges have been directed to allow admission of these students till July 31, without a fine. Colleges can also admit students who had cleared the SSLC examination conducted in April 2017 till July 31 after levying a fine.
