Dell launches 14th Generation PowerEdge server portfolio

IT products and services firm EMC on Wednesday launched the next generation of its PowerEdge server portfolio worldwide.

The new 14th Generation EMC PowerEdge server provides a scalable, automated and secure computing platform for traditional, virtualised and Cloud-based applications.

"The 14th Generation of PowerEdge servers are at the bedrock of the modern data centre and are aimed at driving IT transformation in the industry," said Rajesh Janey, President and Managing Director, India Enterprise, EMC, in a statement.

"It allows our customers to scale, automate and protect their business," he added.

The server, running on Intel 'Xeon Scalable' processors, provides 27 per cent more CPU cores and 50 per cent more memory bandwidth to its customers.

"EMC's PowerEdge 14th Generation improves upon the world's best-selling server portfolio with performance innovations that will enable our customers to optimise their business potential," said Manish Gupta, Senior Director and General Manager, Compute and Networking Group, EMC India.

The servers will be embedded in storage and data centre appliances, hyper-converged appliances and racks, hybrid Cloud platforms, ready nodes, bundles and other EMC solutions.
