TDP district president Kavampalli Satyanarayana wanted the State Government to release a white paper on the Telanganaku Haritha Haaram programme. The government should disclose details about the number of saplings planted, how saplings survived and amount spent during the last three phases of the programme, he said.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that the government is increasing spending on the programme from ₹240 crore in the first phase to ₹405 crore in the second phase and ₹545 crore in the third phase. But, the forest coverage is dwindling considerably over the years during the TRS regime, he alleged.
The TDP leader alleged that the government is creating lot of hype on plantation of saplings and later is neglecting its protection.
He also alleged that the government had failed to fulfil its promise of developing Karimnagar town on par with London and New York. In turn, the town has gone from bad to worse with bad roads and unscientific beautification of roads, he said. He also charged that the government has to failed to upgrade the civil hospital on the lines of NIMS. Town party president K. Agaiah and others were also present.
