An eight-year-old girl in Shaheen Nagar died on Tuesday after she was beaten up badly by wounded fatally following beating by her mother gave her on Tuesday. Farzana Begum used to beat and brand her first-born with hot objects regularly, the Balapur police noted. On Tuesday, she beat the child Firdoz Fatima in a fit of rage.
The girl collapsed after being beaten and was subsequently rushed to a government hospital where she was declared dead.
“The child was with the father until about eight months ago. The mother, who had separated from her husband, fought to get her daughter to live with her. But she used to thrash the child regularly. Marks of previous injuries were visible on the child,” said Balapur Inspector S. Mohan Reddy.
The police have booked the mother for culpable suicide not amounting to murder and have also registered cases under other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
