The AIADMK (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma), headed by former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, has approached the Election Commission, seeking permission to appoint office-bearers for the party.
In an application, party MP V. Maitreyan pointed out that on March 22, the apex poll body had frozen the AIADMK’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol. Pending the outcome of the dispute between the Panneerselvam and Sasikala factions, Mr. Maitreyan has sought permission to appoint office-bearers for AIADMK (PTA). This was necessary to coordinate the political activities of the party at various levels, he said.
