The Meerut police on Wednesday arrested six people associated with senior Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) leader Yaqub Quraishi two days after his daughter Najma allegedly barged inside a girl’s school in Meerut along with a whip and eight other men to beat up classmates of her daughter Ramsha, who had complained to the class teacher that Ramsha had bunked classes for two days.
The police booked 10 people, including Najma, under several sections of the IPC.
Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manzil Saini told media that six people were arrested in the case based on the CCTV footage provided by the school. Najma is yet to be arrested.
