A second fever ward and a 24-hour laboratory are being opened at the Government Medical College (MCH) hospital on Wednesday as there has been a huge increase in the number of fever patients arriving here.
Ward 14 at MCH is being readied as the second fever ward, where 70 patients can be accommodated. Mosquito nets and other facilities will be in place.
The service of 20 nurse trainees is also being arranged at the MCH, in consideration of the unmanageable number of patients.
