Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar on Tuesday said Labour Minister Santosh Lad has lost the moral right to continue in his post after a city court directed him to pay Rs 7.50 crore to a film producer in connection with a cheque bounce case.
“It might be related to his private business, but the minister should have been careful. The minister should not continue in the office. I will leave it to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to decide whether to allow him (Lad) to continue as the minister,” Shettar said.
Health and Family Welfare Minister K R Ramesh Kumar said the government will give an appropriate reply in this regard.
