Felicitations and a series of other programmes mark Father’s Day in city

A ramp walk by 60 fathers along with their children, personality trainer Satish Makina’s talk on the role of father in society and dances by children were the highlights of the programme ‘Nannaku prematho’, organised by V-Team, on the occasion of Father’s Day at VUDA Children’s Arena on Sunday.

Chilldren danced in gay abandon as a singer presented old melodies from Telugu and Hindi films live on the stage.

The women anchors in their dazzling dresses and lively commentary were the cynosure of all eyes.

The India–Pakistan final cricket match, streamed live, excited the gathering.

The short film ‘Nannante’, directed by Uday, caught the attention of the audience. Suhana floored the audience with her dance numbers. There were special carnival theme dances, traditional and folk dances. One of the fathers, who participated in the show, said: “Everyday is a family day and not only on Father’s Day.” This shows his love for his family.

Fathers, who completed 80 years of age, were felicitated on the occasion.

The octogenarian fathers were seen getting emotional, as the felicitation programme touched an emotional chord.

Fathers were seen saying that it was a special day and it was their ‘Day out’.

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who participated as chief guest, complimented Veeru mama for the unique programme. He called upon children to live up to the expectations of their parents.

Visakhapatnam West MLA P.G.V.R. Naidu, GVMC Deputy Commissioner G.V.V.S. Murthy, Ramesh Menon and Balaji of Shri Ram Properties and Varma of Hasini Estates also participated in the programme.
