Bankers are meeting from Monday to finalise their next course of action on six of the 12 bad loan accounts for immediate referral to NCLT after the RBI named the largest defaulters to face bankruptcy proceedings. According to RBI, these 12 accounts owe Rs 2.5 trillion to the system, which constitute around 25 per cent of gross bad loans.

The first round of talks on Britain's withdrawal from the European Union will start from Monday. It follows a meeting in Brussels where both sides agreed that the formal negotiations under the Article 50 process can now commence. Brexit Secretary David Davis will play a key role in negotiations with the EU, alongside Liam Fox, International Trade Secretary and Boris Johnson, Foreign Secretary.

CDSL public issue opens on Monday. The IPO of Central Depository Services (India) Ltd involves its shareholders, including BSE, offloading over 3.5 crore shares through the offer-for-sale route. It has fixed a price band of Rs 145-149. At the higher end of the price band, the shares are estimated to fetch around Rs 524 crore. BSE, which holds 50.05 per cent stake in CDSL, will offload 2.72 crore shares representing 26.05 per cent holding in the depository to meet with SEBI norms.

In the wake of the crisis engulfing the Darjeeling hills in West Bengal on Thursday, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said talks among representatives of the State and Central governments and Gorkha leaders will be held in New Delhi on June 19. Violence was reported across the hills last week and a media vehicle was set on fire after the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha called for a complete shutdown in the hills following a raid on its president Bimal Gurung’s residence in Patlebas and ''seizure'' of arms, bows and arrows, baseball bats, sharp weapons, knives and crackers.

Trade unions have decided to strike work for three-days in coal mines of Coal India and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd from June 19. The national trade unions — AITUC, HMS, CITU and BMS — called for the strike following no headway in the talks with the Coal India and Singareni management at the Joint Bipartite Committee for Coal India meeting, held in New Delhi, for the implementation of 10th National Coal Wage Agreement for the benefit of coal workers in the country.
