He wrote a letter to BSF chief

The habit of reading newspapers gave him an insight into the hardship and challenges faced by the security forces at the borders. It helped him in visiting Murar, near Pakistan, with special permission from the Border Security Force (BSF).

The reports published in newspapers triggered enthusiasm in Ravikar Reddy that he should visit the border to have first hand experience of the conditions there. He wrote a letter to BSF Director General K.K. Sarma seeking permission to observe the services rendered by the BSF jawans.

“I got the permission to visit the border between March 21 and 26,” Ravikar Reddy told Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The Chief Minister gave him an audience at his residence on Sunday. Mr. Naidu said parents should create awareness among children about national leaders, patriotism and important developments in the annuls of history. Instead of allowing them to hang around cinema theatres and spend most of the time in front of TVs, it was better to engage them in activities that would help in improving curricular and co-curricular activities, he said.

To speak at Mahanadu

When Ravikar sought an opportunity to speak at Mahanadu, Mr. Naidu assured him of a chance in the next one. He told the TDP national president that children would understand if he spoke at the meet.
