Sehri trip turns fatal for duo

Two youngsters who were on their way for ‘sehri’ at Mohammed Ali Road were killed in a hit-and-run accident in Chunabhatti on Friday morning.

The Chunabhatti police were informed about two youth lying unconscious near a damaged scooter near Somaiyya Hospital on the Mumbai-Thane Highway at 1 a.m. on Friday.

An officer said, “We found the two youth lying lifeless and rushed them to Sion Hospital. They were declared dead before admission. They were identified as Altamash Sheikh (20) and Sohail Pathan (16). Sheikh, who was driving the vehicle, was not wearing a helmet.”

The officer said that there were no eye-witnesses and a medium or heavy vehicle trying to overtake the scooter could have rammed into it.

Sheikh and Pathan were residents of Nehru Nagar area in Kurla and were on their way to eat morning snacks during Ramadan.
