Fishermen advised to exercise caution while venturing into the sea

The southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Rayalaseema and active over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The low pressure area lies over southwest Bangladesh and neighbourhood and the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 4.5 km above mean sea level persists.

The trough on sea level, running from Chhattisgarh to South Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema, also persists.

Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places over coastal AP and Rayalaseema on Saturday.

Heavy rain occurred at isolated places over coastal AP and Rayalaseema on Friday. Rain occurred at most places over coastal AP and at many places over Rayalaseema.

Strong surface winds from south-westerly direction, with speed reaching 45-55 kmph, are likely along and off north coastal Andhra Pradesh till Saturday evening, according to Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) here.

Fishermen have been advised to exercise caution while venturing into the sea.
