A delegation of a self-help group for the visually-challenged today urged the government to keep assistive devices and Braille papers out of the GST net.
The delegation called on Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot in this regard.
General Secretary of the National Federation of the Blind S K Rungta said the delegation also met Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal.
The delegation submitted a copy of the representation already sent to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to keep assistive devices, special equipments and Braille papers for persons with disabilities in the list of zero-GST items, the federation said in a statement.
