A two-day placement drive, Alva’s Pragati, hosted by Alva’s Education Foundation, will be conducted at Alva’s College in Moodbidri from June 24. Graduates can attend for free, Vivek Alva, Managing Trustee of the foundation, said. The foundation would provide free accommodation for outstation candidates. Of 5,525 candidates shortlisted by companies in last year’s placement drive, 1,200 had received offers.
About 200 companies were expected to attend this year’s mela. Companies from Information Technology, IT-enabled services, manufacturing, sales and retail, banking and finance, hospitality and education and from NGO sectors will take part. These sectors offer openings for graduates and postgraduates from medical, para-medical, engineering, arts, commerce and management, basic sciences, nursing, ITI, diploma, skilled manpower with pre-university and SSLC and other qualifications.
Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj will inaugurate the event. There would be highest openings for B.Sc., B.Com., BBM, B.A. and other basic graduation degree holders.
Mr. Alva said that all job aspirants except ITI, Pre-University and SSLC passed candidates would have to register on-line compulsorily. Details could be had from www.alvaspragati.com.
