Mumbai, June 16:
The rupee staged a mild recovery after Thursday’s plunge and closed 10 paise higher at 64.43 against the US dollar on Friday, taking cues fromencouraging export numbers for May. The domestic currency had plunged 23 paise to an over two-week low of 64.53 on Thursday after the US Federal Reserve hiked the key policy rate by 25 basis points and maintained a hawkish tone, going forward. The home currency made a strong comeback in late afternoon trade on Friday after the dollar gave up its gains against major global currencies.
